While our mission statement itself is succinct, the task at hand is far from simple. 

What does it take to deter drug addiction? 

What does it take to deter experimentation?

How do you keep someone from developing a habit? 

How do you answer the questions people have before they even know that they have them?

Team HYRD came together as a group because we feel passionately about the topic of drug use prevention.  We feel passionately about outreach, about treatment, about education and about effective communication on the topic at hand.

Drug use, abuse and addiction is an extremely broad topic.  While multitudes of current outreach methods exist - DARE, social media memes, articles, after-school programs, rehabilitative programs and even correctional institutions and programs – where do you find information if it isn’t immediately presented to you?  To that end, Team HYRD set out to create this website as a general resource guide.

This site is intended to funnel information about every topic we could possibly think of:

What do certain drugs even look like?

How can I tell if my friend or child is using drugs?

How can I tell if my friend or child is over-using something prescribed to them?

What are the risk factors associated with certain drugs?

What are the penalties?

How do I find information on side-effects or overdose indicators? 

What does withdrawal look like?

What can I do to help my loved-one get off of drugs?

 

While this only begins to scratch the surface, we hope that this will reach someone out there and will aid, even just a little, to helping our area youth resist drugs.
